Apple’s new MacBook and Cinema Display comes to India
The recently announced Macbook and Macbook Pro updates have made its way to India within days of its US launch. Also coming this November is the Apple 24″ Cinema Display!
The new Macbook and Macbook Pro are way ahead of their time and competition. Notable enhancements include an aluminium unibody, slimmer / sleeker and lighter design, enlarged glass trackpad with new touch features, and LED-backlit display.
Aluminum Precision unibody enclosure: The most stunning factor of the new MacBook’s is the body design. To eliminate unwanted parts and complexities the base of the new MB and MBP are carved out from a single block of aluminum (Video and more here). Thus resulting in thinner, more durable and incredibly beautiful designs.
RIP Vista? All eyes on Windows 7!
Though I agree with our Twitter friend that the whole Vista Sux thing has been overrated and is more of a perception. But its certain that consumers are sticking to XP and waiting for something better! Most notebook buyers @ SAPLdemand a XP installation instead of Vista that comes bundled. So is MS looking to revive Vista or move one?
The enterprise adoption of Vista is as low as 10%, and we sure know that XP did beat Vista for the Olympics games at least. And since almost a year now we are hearing about Windows 7. Touch functionality and faster / more responsive OS is what Microsoft is targeting with Windows 7. Microsoft employees working in Bangalore have had the opportunity to view Win7 pretty closely since a long time and their initial reviews are “WoW”.
On the other hand Microsoft is also keeping the market buzz pretty live, with Windows7 demos to word to device makers to get Win7 certification on time they are certainly working overtime on it! Rumors are that Windows 7 might hit the markets as soon as 2009, but a more realistic and accepted date is sometime in 2010.
With the growing competition from Open source OS’s and Mac, Windows certainly will start to feel the heat if Windows 7 doesn’t click as expected.
Nokia E63 is now official - Priced approx $250
E63 offers 3G but no GPS or HSDPA. Available in two colors ruby red and ultramarine blue; I might trade in my E61i for this one!
Whilst appealing to a new group of consumers with a design that feels great in the hand and has two new colors, the Nokia E63 is still very much a member of the Eseries family. Petersen continues, “People use Eseries to access their corporate mail, review their calendar and work in their business network, so the Nokia E63 still includes Wi-Fi connectivity, easy access to Mail for Exchange and dedicated key access to contacts, calendar and email.”
The Nokia E63 also includes Files on Ovi, a service where people can get remote access to their PC files even when their computer is offline. Anyone buying the handset will have access to 1GB of online file storage for free.
